Based on the study “Assessment and Analysis of Certification Requirements in Selected Export Sectors of Pakistan”, TRTA-II Programme in collaboration with Pakistan Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), conducted the “Certified Trainings of Consultants and Responsible Personnel of Enterprises of Selected Sectors” programme. Bureau Veritas Certifications (BVC) was awarded the contract to conduct these training courses during a period of three months, from January – March, 2016.
The expression of interest was advertised in the daily newspaper on November 17, 2015 and a wide number of applications were received. The candidates were shortlisted on the basis of qualification, experience, organization and relevancy to the training course in the current job.
Overall 10 courses had been selected while the training course on FSSC 22000 LA was conducted twice as IRCA permits only 10 number of participants per session. Around 170 personnel were trained collectively in these courses.
The training course on “Awareness and Internal Auditing SA – 8000” was conducted from 26th 28th January, 2016 in Gujrat and nineteen shortlisted candidates participated in this course. The opening remarks were given by Mr. Ijaz Ahmed (President Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gujrat) and closing remarks were given by Mr. Imad Rafique (Chairman Pakistan Electric Fans Manufacturers Association PEFMA).
Social Accountability International (SAI) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that promotes the human rights of workers through the implementation of voluntary standards. The SA8000 standard is based on the principles of ILO conventions, the UN Convention on the Rights of Children, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. SA8000 requirements apply universally, regardless of a company’s size, its geographic location or industry sector.
At the end of this course the participants took an exam from Bureau Veritas Certifications (BVC) and received certificates of attendance. The participants who qualify the exam will be awarded certificates of achievement.
