Enforcement of IP Rights

The existence of rights leads to benefits only if those rights are appropriately protected. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the protection of rights results in benefits not only to the rights holders but to society at large.

The program will seek to assist national authorities in their ongoing efforts to build their own capacity to protect IP rights. Activities shall include a colloquium for judges on IP enforcement, including on appropriate institutional mechanisms for effective enforcement; training of “trainers” from Customs and Police Academies; and support for training courses on IP enforcement to be conducted by the Judicial, Customs and Police Academies.
